2003-04-06 ~ 8:26 p.m. ~ Shades of Pink and beige...and a Strawberry cake
I had a wonderful weekend. Saturday, I woke up late on Saturday, V boy was already waiting for me to play. We played for about 2 hours before I had to go. I needed to go to the quilt shop to pick my fabrics. Having gone to the shop a few weeks before, I had my eye on a series of pink victorian fabrics. I chose that for my log cabin. And we needed another shade to complement it. So I tried green and beige. I prefer the beige ones, it looked very feminine and sweet. The green gave a very different feeling; it looked very victorian, very old. But I don't think it fit my room because I didn't had dark walls. But it was still going to be nice. The lady was as excited as me, saying she can't wait till it's done. She can already imagine it's going to be very sweet. I didn't stay in town for long. After that, I went to the supermarket and picked up a few groceries and decided what I wanted for dinner. I bought a few sticks of yakitori chicken and cooked some noodles to go along with that. I also went to Sunny Bookshop to get 2 books and returned a overdue book. Then I head home. A lot of people are probably like me. They don't want to live in fear, I still see a lot of young people hanging out in town. Today, I had a nice morning playing for a few hours with V boy, before I embarked on a 2 hrs cleaning. I sweep and mopped the floor with detergent and extra dettol. My clothes are also washed with detergent and laundry dettol. What was most fun was probably washing my fabrics and let the sun dry it. It smells really good, and I have ironed a few of them. I'm all ready to go. Tomorrow, I'll probably go watch The Hours with Hacker after work. We have postponed it for 2 weeks now, and I want to watch it. I watched Catch Me If You Can over the weekend, and I love the show. Tears of the Sun wasn't fantastic. It was a rather boring war movie. I was surfing the web today and came across this japanese cross stitch website. I saw something I could not resist. Strawberry cake....it is so mouth watering. ![]() I am going to email the lady to ask where she got the chart. The other day, I was emailing Ching on the update of SARs here. She was concerned about things in Singapore and Hongkong. We emailed and then her last email was, "How's your plan for this year...come to visit me....I am waiting for your guys..." Hm..I know I have an open invitation to visit her in Winsconsin, as long as I can get a flight there. I have no plans yet, and I am a little sad. I know I want to travel again this year, but with things that are so uncertain, I'm not sure if I can go...alone. All in all, my life is peaceful. What more can I ask for?
