2003-04-10 ~ 10:38 p.m. ~ Promotion woes and More
My promotion comes with another set of woes. Tracy wasn't promoted and tongues started wagging, and she heard gossips, saying why her good friend was promoted and yet she wasn't. I think she felt it was a personal attack and is very angry about it. She plans to quit in June (even if it means without a job). I am feeling sad for selfish reasons, because I don't have much friends there and will feel lonely. But I know better than to hold people back that way, so I can only say, I hope you find a job before you quit. But I think she's angry to the very root of her hair and so she tells me she won't care if she does not find a job. I am not sure if those were just angry words, but I know sometimes there is a limit to what you can take/endure. My promotion comes with another set of woes. A 33-year-old female Chinese national has been reported missing from the Communicable Diseases Centre. She was last seen on Wednesday morning by the hospital staff. She and another 27-year-old Chinese national were arrested on immigration offences on April 8, but were taken from Ang Mo Kio Police Headquarters to Tan Tock Seng Hospital on April 9 as they showed signs of coughing and mild fever. Efforts to find the missing female has been unsuccessful so far, and police are continuing to keep a lookout. Meanwhile, police officers who came in contact with the two females are monitoring their body temperatures, but TTSH says the two Chinese nationals are unlikely to have the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. ****
Isn't this ridiculous?
Think about this, I mean, if you do not have SARS, why are you so afraid of going to the hospital? Why do they run away? Maybe they are illegal immigrants.
What kind of foreign talent are we attracting here??? They better not be holding PR status.
