2003-05-27 ~ 4:44 p.m. ~ Pills no more

I went to the doctor yesterday evening. I reached the clinic at 6:30 and didn’t get to leave till…7:30. I waited for more than half an hour. There was only 1 doctor and 1 nurse. The nurse also doubled up as registration personnel, dispensing medicine and taking phone calls. The doctor was seeing patients faster than the nurse could dispense medicine. And one patient was…buying medicine for herself, her son and her mom, but they were all not there. Each has about 3-4 different kinds of medicine, so I think the nurse was busy getting medicine for her. I see frustration across the rest of the people’s face. I didn’t bother taking a seat, because it was all too hot. I stood at the entrance and counted that there were 4-5 fans in that little clinic, blowing full blast.

It was finally my turn. I am so glad I am no longer on medication. The doctor thinks I am doing so well that I no longer need to take the Vit A pills. That was just good news to me, as I don’t need to spend 70 bucks a month on Vit A pills. Tracy was on a half year medication, I only took 2 mths of Vit A pills. The doctor still gave me 1 box, to keep in the fridge. She says to take it only when necessary, so I have to monitor my own skin. My lips were cracking and she said it was not due to the medication. I must have some allergy to some lipstick! Oh no, I can’t think which one was it but my good guess was the lip balm which I got as a lucky dip christmas present in Hongkong. I stopped using it this morning, yup, I don’t see my lips flaking as much as the past few weeks, which was horrible. The doctor gave me some cream to heal my cracked mouth. It was painful and each time I open my mouth to eat, I feel myself cracking and bleeding. Hm…I need to invest in a good lip balm.
