2003-05-30 ~ 9:16 p.m. ~ Lots of Shopping

Wow guys, there's just too much shopping going on in my life this week. To be exaggerating, it seems I have my entire wardrobe changed. On Wednesday while I was waiting for Matrix Reloaded to start, I shopped in nearby neighbourhood shop and bought about 5 stuff, all cheap and mid-range. I even got a skirt at $19.90, how can I resist? 3 items are out of stock but I paid in advance and will collect them on Monday. I felt I need new clothes because:

1) The weather is getting hot and I do not have much sleeveless work shirts.

2) I want to get new working skirts that does not make my hip looks big.

I am happy, just a little poorer. Did I stop at there? Apparently no. I needed a pair of good shoes and after talking to Juliana, she advised in investing a pair of really good shoes, and wearing them only for formal occasions. I think it made perfect sense. I'll keep the rest of my cheap shoes for usual days. So on Thursday after my congress, I was on my way downtown to change a bus home. I diverted and went to get a pair of really good heels, that's about 90 bucks. Phew. I can't stand having blisters, so I don't mind paying a bit more as long as my feet doesn't suffer.

That was all I got on Thursday.

Friday...I thought I will not be spending money. I was wrong. Mom said she wanted to meet me in town for dinner, I gladly said OK. I got off again at 4 plus after congress and went downtown. I shopped as I waited for her, this time, I looked at clothes. I tried on a few pants, they were meant for stick-like legs, geez, I wonder why I bothered even trying to imagine myself fitting into them. I wanted to go to Kinokuniya bookshop, which is a safe place for me (I know it's unlikely for me to buy a book today after I got a book by Allan Pease on "Why men don't listen and women can't read maps"). On the way to the bookshop, my eyes swayed and I saw some really nice and cheap cardigans. Oooh...I really need some of those. I can't resist trying as they felt comfortable and it was cheap. $17.90?!! I picked up a light cyan and wow, I loved that colour. Then I think I need a black too, and how about a white for my new white skirt. In the end, I ended up with 3 cardigans, but I'm so happy, these are good buys! Hehe! I think when I shop, I can really SHOP!!

Next week, Juliana, Michelle and me are going window-shopping for cosmetics. Heehee.! It's a miracle how retail theraphy lifts up a woman's mood.

This is such a wonderful week. I just came back attending the talk by Allan Peace, it reminded me of Dr John Gray's seminar in a scaled-down version. I went flipping through pages of the book and laughed as I read...because it was just so true.

Got to go read the book now...
