2003-10-04 ~ 10:29 p.m. ~ The bad and the good
Well, many things happened. The bad one was that there was a major restructuring in my work place and most people are affected. But me and my peers are probably the worst hit because it will mean that our job scopes are downgraded. I did not like it when my boss told me that. In fact I did say that I do not know if there was enough interest to sustain me. I did not like the idea that my portfolios will be taken away from me and given to another senior executive just because she was a local graduate and I am not. I told my trainer the same thing and she said she would pray hard that they don't take me away because she enjoyed working with me. I guess that made me happy and proud. I was affected and upset for 2 weeks, on and off. Then things started to cool down a bit. I kind of accepted the fact that changes was inevitable and no matter how upset I am, things will change. That is the fact. Just the other day, Olivia asked me out for dinner around 4 plus in the afternoon. I agreed and both of us went to Hans for dinner. We talked till 8:30pm and she gave me some insiders info about why the change was necessary. It did help me to see a different picture. I am not sure if I buy it totally, but I am hoping that the reason for change was for the benefit for the whole organization, for the better. Happy news: I'm going for vacation in Dec for 2 weeks and I'm off to Vancouver and Hongkong!! I'm so happy. There will be 8 of us and Anthony (my online friend) will meet me there and bring me to probably cypress mountains to ski for a day! I can see snow then!!! I am very excited. I guess I will be busy planning for my trip from now onwards! It's about 2 months from now...
