2004-10-24 ~ 9:48 p.m. ~ Buying Time

It has been a hard day. I thought the trip to the hospital would be just easy visiting. It seems my great grand mother is in great pain. Her small intestine has inflammation and due to her age, they can’t operate on her. She’s 91. So they can only give her painkillers to relieve her pain. And the thing is, these jokers are already planning for her funeral rites and all that jest. They needed her to be “baptized” as a Buddhist when she is alive so that a Buddhist funeral rites can be perform for her when she dies, so they didn’t want to give her morphine right now as they needed her to be alert. So she is in pain, doesn’t have a strong pain killer, and the monk came about 5pm to do some simple rites for her baptism and then after that, they put her on morphine. But I think she is still in some pain and we’re just dragging the time. She did say that she wanted a jab to be done with so she don’t have to be in pain but unfortunately the system here doesn’t allow death jabs so that is out of the question. It is sad to see her in pain and there is nothing to do to help her.
The jokers have also arranged and purchase a urn and a tablet space for her. Jokers as in my dad and his brothers. I think we are definitely just buying time and we might be activated for a funeral soon within these few days or week. My gg is still very alert despite the pain though she thought I was one of the nurses. Best of all, after lunch, I went back home on my own only to realize I did not bring my key with me so I cannot go into my house, so I have no choice but to go back to the hospital and stayed till 6pm.

Going to be a tough week ahead for me since I am schedule to help out with the Conference. Oh well with an impending funeral, I just don’t know how I am going to handle everything. Wish me luck.
